My client, a leading organization located in vibrant downtown Houston, is seeking a <strong>Contract Senior Accountant</strong> to join their team for a key project. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your expertise in accounting and finance while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Accurately record, report, and analyze revenue and operating expenditures for terminals, adhering to strict deadlines.</li><li>Perform end-of-month tasks as outlined in the close calendar.</li><li>Prepare month-end journal entries for profit and loss and contribute to quarter-end financial reports.</li><li>Compile monthly variance analyses for the MidAtlantic Area.</li><li>Review and verify the accuracy of annual budgets.</li><li>Interpret trends using forecasts and P& Ls to provide actionable insights.</li><li>Maintain organized and accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations for specified amounts.</li><li>Conduct CALM reconciliations and manage shortfall schedules.</li><li>Maintain detailed monthly schedules related to leases, rents, and volumes.</li><li>Regularly review accounts receivable aging balances and, when necessary, follow up with customer collection calls.</li><li>Review customer contracts to verify data accuracy, including rates and volume requirements.</li><li>Prepare quarterly variance analysis and flux reporting for financial metrics.</li><li>Provide other accounting-related duties as trained and directed.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<ul><li><strong>Experience</strong>: Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience is required.</li><li><strong>Education</strong>: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or 5-7 years of equivalent experience.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to resolve accounting issues.</li><li>Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency in work.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel; a solid understanding of other financial tools is a plus.</li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with professionalism and tact when interacting with a diverse group of stakeholders.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.</li></ul><p><strong>Additional Attributes:</strong></p><ul><li>Detail-oriented and capable of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.</li><li>Self-motivated with a strong drive for delivering results.</li><li>Knowledge of variance analysis, financial reporting, and lease schedule maintenance is strongly preferred.</li></ul><p><br></p>
