Our client in the Houston area is looking for a General Ledger Accountant on a long term contract basis. As a General Ledger Accountant, you will oversee the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of the general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are accurate and up to date </li><li>Prepare and post journal entries, adjusting entries, and monthly closing entries.</li><li>Reconcile general ledger accounts, including prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany accounts.</li><li>Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports for management.</li><li>Assist with audits, providing documentation and explanations for financial transactions.</li><li>Collaborate with other accounting and finance staff to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.</li></ul>

<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of accounting experience, with specific expertise in general ledger functions </li><li>Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills.</li><li>Knowledge of GAAP and other applicable accounting standards.</li></ul>
