Receptionist
<p>We are looking for an experienced and dependable Receptionist to support daily front desk and office operations for a company in Herndon, Virginia. This Contract position is ideal for someone who enjoys creating a welcoming first impression, keeping workplace services organized, and providing responsive administrative support across teams. The person in this role will help ensure smooth visitor management, mail handling, supply coordination, and general facilities-related communication while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Greet guests, answer and route incoming calls, and notify employees of visitor arrivals while maintaining an organized and welcoming reception area.</p><p>• Manage visitor registration, badge distribution, sign-in and sign-out activity, and accurate log tracking through office visitor systems.</p><p>• Support employee onboarding and offboarding logistics by coordinating workspace assignments, access items, key handling, and workstation readiness with facilities staff.</p><p>• Receive, sort, and coordinate distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and shipments, including postage processing and package tracking.</p><p>• Prepare shipping labels, arrange courier pickups, and deliver urgent packages when necessary.</p><p>• Order and maintain office, kitchen, and administrative supplies while helping keep storage areas, copy rooms, and shared spaces neat and well stocked.</p><p>• Monitor internal and property management maintenance requests, route tickets appropriately, and follow up with facilities partners to help resolve office issues.</p><p>• Help address conference room scheduling conflicts and provide general administrative assistance to departments as needed.</p><p>• Maintain procedure documentation, protect sensitive company and employee information, and assist with emergency response duties such as serving as Fire Warden.</p><p>• Contribute to special assignments and provide additional operational support as business needs arise.</p>
• At least 1 year of experience in a receptionist, front desk, administrative, or office support role.<br>• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, and vendors.<br>• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced office setting while staying organized and dependable.<br>• Experience handling incoming calls, directing communications, managing mail distribution, and supporting general administrative requests.<br>• Comfortable coordinating office supply orders, shipping activities, and conference room scheduling.<br>• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail when working with confidential information.<br>• Proficiency with standard office tools and systems used for email correspondence, visitor tracking, and day-to-day administrative support.<br>• Reliable punctuality and a courteous, proactive approach to service and problem solving.
