Sr. Accountant
We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Greenwich, Connecticut. This is a long-term contract position within the non-profit sector, offering an opportunity to contribute to impactful financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities and a passion for ensuring accurate financial management and reporting.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage and supervise the daily operations of the accounting department, including overseeing month-end and year-end processes.<br>• Prepare and review general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial analyses to ensure accuracy and compliance.<br>• Handle accounts payable processes efficiently while monitoring fixed assets and capital grants activity.<br>• Conduct variance analysis on revenues and expenditures to support budgeting and forecasting efforts.<br>• Produce comprehensive financial reports and statements for management and the Board of Directors.<br>• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth audits and compliance reviews.<br>• Ensure timely completion and submission of annual 1099 forms.<br>• Implement and enforce proper accounting policies, methods, and principles.<br>• Collaborate with team members to address additional duties and tasks as needed.
• Proven experience in non-profit accounting, with a solid understanding of related principles and practices.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and data analysis.<br>• Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities effectively.<br>• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to convey information clearly.<br>• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all financial matters.<br>• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.<br>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software applications.<br>• Familiarity with general ledger, journal entries, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.
