Purchasing Manager
<p>Our trusted client is seeking a Purchasing Manager Consultant for a long-term engagement. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in overseeing procurement activities, optimizing purchasing processes, and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. This role requires a strategic mindset and a strong background in materials management and supply chain operations.</p><p><br></p><p>The day-to-day responsibilities include: </p><p><br></p><p>• Act as the primary liaison between the Purchasing department and project teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.</p><p>• Facilitate data migration processes, including updating material and vendor master data within procurement systems.</p><p>• Provide end-user support for procurement system inquiries and suggest enhancements to improve functionality.</p><p>• Ensure purchasing policies and procedures are accurately implemented within the organization's systems.</p><p>• Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for the Purchasing team to enhance skill development.</p><p>• Coordinate vendor enablement initiatives to ensure accurate purchase order processing, pricing, and delivery requirements.</p><p>• Oversee cutover, go-live, and post-implementation support activities, including system testing and resolving issues.</p><p>• Execute ad hoc procurement, inventory management, and materials control tasks as needed to support operational goals.</p><p>• Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency in purchasing and inventory management workflows.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: </p><p><br></p><p>• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.</p><p>• Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or inventory management roles, preferably in manufacturing or distribution.</p><p>• Deep understanding of purchasing processes, inventory control practices, and supply chain management principles.</p><p>• Hands-on experience with SAP MM module, including Purchasing, Inventory Management, Material Master, and Vendor Master.</p><p>• Familiarity with SAP integrations across modules such as Finance, Production Planning, and Sales and Distribution.</p><p>• Proven track record of contributing to SAP implementations as a key user or project team member.</p><p>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, to support data analysis and reporting.</p><p>• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to resolve complex procurement challenges.</p>
