Medical Billing Specialist
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in East Setauket, New York. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in medical billing and coding while making a positive impact on patients during sensitive times. The role involves managing the full revenue cycle, including claims processing, resolving denials, and appealing rejections to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Handle the complete medical billing cycle, including coding, claim submissions, and payment processing.<br>• Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections to recover lost revenue.<br>• Submit appeals to insurance providers to ensure the accuracy and fairness of payments.<br>• Collaborate with the billing supervisor and team members to optimize revenue processes.<br>• Communicate compassionately with patients to address billing concerns and provide support.<br>• Analyze insurance company responses and strategize to combat payment delays or discrepancies.<br>• Maintain compliance with medical billing regulations and industry standards.<br>• Utilize available systems and tools to streamline billing and reimbursement operations.<br>• Assist with training and onboarding new team members to ensure consistency in processes.
• At least 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or coding; certification preferred.<br>• Strong knowledge of claim processing, denials management, and appeals.<br>• Ability to investigate and resolve complex billing issues with insurance providers.<br>• Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.<br>• Detail-oriented and highly organized to manage multiple tasks effectively.<br>• Proficiency in medical billing software; experience with Next Gen is a plus but not required.<br>• A proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to identify revenue recovery opportunities.<br>• Willingness to work onsite Monday through Friday as part of a collaborative team.
