We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in East Setauket, New York. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in medical billing and coding while making a positive impact on patients during sensitive times. The role involves managing the full revenue cycle, including claims processing, resolving denials, and appealing rejections to ensure timely and accurate reimbursements. Responsibilities: • Handle the complete medical billing cycle, including coding, claim submissions, and payment processing. • Investigate and resolve claim denials and rejections to recover lost revenue. • Submit appeals to insurance providers to ensure the accuracy and fairness of payments. • Collaborate with the billing supervisor and team members to optimize revenue processes. • Communicate compassionately with patients to address billing concerns and provide support. • Analyze insurance company responses and strategize to combat payment delays or discrepancies. • Maintain compliance with medical billing regulations and industry standards. • Utilize available systems and tools to streamline billing and reimbursement operations. • Assist with training and onboarding new team members to ensure consistency in processes.

• At least 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or coding; certification preferred. • Strong knowledge of claim processing, denials management, and appeals. • Ability to investigate and resolve complex billing issues with insurance providers. • Excellent communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach. • Detail-oriented and highly organized to manage multiple tasks effectively. • Proficiency in medical billing software; experience with Next Gen is a plus but not required. • A proactive and analytical mindset, with the ability to identify revenue recovery opportunities. • Willingness to work onsite Monday through Friday as part of a collaborative team.
