Our trusted client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager Consultant for a long-term engagement. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial institutions and extensive expertise in account reconciliations. The successful candidate will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established controls. This fully onsite role is located in Detroit, Michigan. The day-to-day responsibilities include: • Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.• Oversee general ledger accounting activities and maintain reconciliations.• Conduct thorough account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.• Coordinate and support external audit processes, delivering required documentation and insights.• Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.• Implement and monitor controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.• Analyze and pace financial operations to align with organizational goals.• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence.• Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance financial processes and reporting systems.

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set: • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions and tools.• Demonstrated expertise in general ledger accounting and account reconciliation.• Familiarity with financial statement audits and external audit procedures.• Experience working in financial institutions is highly desirable.• Strong understanding of controls, reconciliation processes, and financial pacing.• Ability to prepare and review complex journal entries.• Exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
