Low Voltage Tech (Alarms)
<p>We are looking for a skilled Low Voltage Technician specializing in alarms to join our team in West Des Moines, Iowa. This is a contract to hire permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects involving fire alarm systems, security panels, and access controls. If you have a strong background in low-voltage technologies and thrive in dynamic environments, we encourage you to apply.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Install and configure fire alarm panels, security systems, and access control devices.</p><p>• Perform service and maintenance tasks, ensuring systems are fully operational.</p><p>• Terminate and re-pull copper cabling to establish new access points.</p><p>• Travel within a 2-3 hour radius to various job sites, with occasional overnight stays.</p><p>• Collaborate with nursing home facilities to recable, clean up nurse call systems, and enhance access controls.</p><p>• Adapt to daily tasks that vary based on project requirements and client needs.</p><p>• Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot issues to maintain high standards of system performance.</p><p>• Maintain clear communication with clients to address concerns and provide updates.</p><p>• Follow safety protocols and standards during installation and service activities.</p>
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in low-voltage technologies; candidates with 2 years of experience may be considered.<br>• Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, intercoms, and access control technologies.<br>• Certifications in systems such as Lenel, Bosch, or similar platforms.<br>• Strong customer service skills with attention to detail and a friendly demeanor.<br>• Ability to work independently without requiring constant supervision.<br>• Flexibility to travel within the specified radius and adapt to varying work schedules.<br>• Proficiency in network cabling, cable installation, and fiber-optic technologies.
