Tax Preparer
<p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable <strong>Tax Preparer</strong> to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and filing accurate tax returns for individuals and/or businesses, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional client service during the tax season and beyond.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare and review individual and business tax returns (Form 1040, 1120, 1065, etc.) in compliance with applicable laws.</li><li>Analyze financial records, income statements, and other documentation to determine tax liabilities.</li><li>Advise clients on tax planning strategies and potential deductions to minimize tax obligations.</li><li>Ensure timely filing of tax returns and respond to IRS or state inquiries as needed.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and security of client information.</li><li>Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and best practices.</li><li>Utilize tax preparation software and maintain accurate records in accordance with company standards.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Education:</strong> Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.</li><li><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum of 2 years in tax preparation or related accounting experience.</li><li><strong>Certifications:</strong> EA (Enrolled Agent), or AFSP (Annual Filing Season Program) preferred.</li><li>Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.</li><li>Proficiency in tax software (e.g., TurboTax, Drake, ProSeries) and Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.</li><li>Strong client service orientation.</li><li>High attention to detail and accuracy.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p><ul><li>Seasonal overtime may be required during peak tax season.</li><li>Hybrid or remote work options may be available.</li></ul><p><br></p>
