Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Dalhart, Texas. This position is critical to managing our accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, and driving compliance with organizational policies. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our organization while working closely with leadership.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and financial statement preparation.<br>• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.<br>• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and conduct variance analyses to support decision-making.<br>• Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.<br>• Collaborate with other departments to optimize accounting workflows and improve operational efficiency.<br>• Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management.<br>• Supervise and mentor the accounting team to foster attention to detail and strong performance.<br>• Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate reporting.<br>• Monitor cash flow, manage treasury functions, and oversee banking reconciliations.<br>• Implement new accounting systems or improve existing processes to enhance functionality.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.<br>• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role such as Controller.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.<br>• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.<br>• Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.<br>• Ability to work 100% onsite in Dalhart, Texas.<br>• Familiarity with document control, scanning processes, and compiling financial documents.
