PMO Manager
We are looking for an experienced PMO Manager to lead enterprise project governance and drive disciplined execution across technology and business initiatives in Cypress, California. This Long-term Contract position will oversee portfolio management, delivery standards, and cross-functional coordination to help ensure projects align with organizational priorities and produce measurable results. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership in project delivery, business analysis, and stakeholder communication within complex IT environments.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Build and continuously improve project governance practices, delivery frameworks, templates, and operating standards to support consistent execution across Agile, Waterfall, and blended delivery models.<br>• Direct the IT project portfolio by evaluating priorities, aligning initiatives with strategic objectives, reviewing overall health, and recommending resource distribution for maximum impact.<br>• Lead projects from initiation through completion, establishing scope, schedules, budgets, risk plans, and dependency management approaches for operational and business-focused initiatives.<br>• Partner with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business needs, map current and future processes, and maintain clear linkage between requirements and delivered solutions.<br>• Govern requirement approval, validation, and controlled changes to protect timelines, budgets, and agreed project outcomes.<br>• Coordinate recurring software releases by managing enhancement and defect priorities, organizing test readiness, supporting deployment activities, and confirming results with business owners after release.<br>• Track delivery performance through dashboards, key metrics, variance reviews, and executive reporting while driving corrective actions when projects fall behind plan.<br>• Facilitate governance forums such as steering committee sessions, stage reviews, risk discussions, and change review meetings to support timely decisions and issue resolution.<br>• Coach project managers, business analysts, and related team members through mentoring, performance feedback, and capability development efforts while improving overall resource utilization.<br>• Evaluate opportunities to enhance project and reporting tools, including Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, and Power BI, to increase visibility, efficiency, and decision support.
• Proven experience leading a project management office or enterprise project portfolio within an IT-focused environment.<br>• Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum practices, traditional project delivery methods, and hybrid implementation approaches.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end IT project management, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and executive status communication.<br>• Experience performing business analysis activities such as requirements gathering, process assessment, documentation, and change control.<br>• PMP certification is required or strongly preferred, depending on prior depth of project leadership experience.<br>• Hands-on familiarity with Atlassian Jira and related collaboration or reporting tools used to manage project execution and visibility.<br>• Ability to influence stakeholders across business and technical teams while guiding priorities in a fast-paced, multi-project setting.
