Staff Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Columbia, South Carolina. This contract position offers an opportunity to play a critical role in a high-volume accounting environment within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Process and enter approximately 1,800 invoices monthly using construction accounting software, such as Foundation.<br>• Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations, including the setup and maintenance of vendor and customer accounts.<br>• Reconcile and digitize health insurance invoices across multiple divisions, ensuring accuracy.<br>• Perform manual data entry from physical documents into the accounting system to support comprehensive data recovery.<br>• Import, review, and reconcile financial records from external systems, integrating them into the primary accounting software.<br>• Collaborate with teams across divisions to verify financial data and ensure proper allocation based on the chart of accounts.<br>• Maintain detailed job costing records to ensure consistency and accuracy for ongoing construction projects.<br>• Assist with additional accounting and administrative tasks as required during the data recovery process.
• Previous experience in construction accounting or similar high-volume environments.<br>• Proficiency in using Foundation or comparable construction accounting software.<br>• Strong understanding of chart of accounts, job costing, and transaction coding.<br>• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document handling.<br>• Ability to work onsite without remote or hybrid options.<br>• Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion.<br>• Excellent organizational and communication skills.<br>• Preferred experience in large-scale data recovery or accounting system integrations.
