<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and oversee financial operations with our client&#39;s organization based in Columbia, South Carolina. This role involves managing a team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and expertise in accounting and GAAP principles.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Supervise the accounting staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.</p><p>• Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial records.</p><p>• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure compliance with regulations.</p><p>• Prepare and review monthly financial statements to provide insights into organizational performance.</p><p>• Maintain compliance with US GAAP standards and ensure proper documentation of financial activities.</p><p>• Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.</p><p>• Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team to foster growth and attention to detail</p>

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a CPA or CMA</p><p>• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.</p><p>• Experience with accounting software.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of GAAP and US GAAP standards.</p><p>• Strong background in supervising teams and managing operations.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team effectively.</p><p>• Knowledge of month-end closing procedures and financial statement preparation.</p><p>• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing monthly and annual financial statements.</p><p>• Ability to communicate effectively with ownership groups and stakeholders.</p><p>• Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements.</p>
