Proofreader
We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Clive, Iowa, and requires someone with strong technical writing skills who can uphold and maintain style guides and editorial standards. If you thrive in deadline-driven environments and have a passion for ensuring written content is precise and accurate, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review and proofread various documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to established style guides.<br>• Maintain and update style guides to ensure consistency across all written materials.<br>• Collaborate with team members to establish and uphold editorial standards.<br>• Identify and correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors in written content.<br>• Ensure documents meet organizational and formatting standards before final submission.<br>• Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.<br>• Provide constructive feedback to writers to enhance the quality of content.<br>• Stay current with AP Style guidelines and other relevant editorial standards.<br>• Support the development of documentation for internal processes, if applicable.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in proofreading or technical writing with a focus on detail-oriented work.<br>• Proven ability to maintain and update style guides and editorial standards.<br>• Strong knowledge of AP Style and other common editorial guidelines.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to pass a proofreading and copy-editing test.<br>• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.<br>• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under tight deadlines.<br>• Familiarity with mistake-proofing and error-checking techniques.<br>• Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
