Accounting Manager
<p>We are looking for an experienced interim Accounting Manager to join our team near Clinton, Indiana. In this Hybrid contract position, you will play a key role in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established practices, and mentoring team members to achieve organizational goals. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage processes efficiently while supporting the Controller with month-end and year-end closing activities.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Reconcile and analyze General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and addressing discrepancies through corrective entries.</p><p>• Review reconciliations prepared by staff and oversee month-end and year-end work papers and reporting.</p><p>• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in submissions to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines.</p><p>• Support audits by gathering and organizing required documentation for internal and external review.</p><p>• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance on daily, monthly, and annual tasks.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, implementing controls and segregation of duties as needed.</p><p>• Evaluate processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and streamline operations.</p><p>• Oversee record-keeping for leases, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules, ensuring accuracy.</p><p>• Collaborate with HR and other departments to address financial and operational inquiries.</p><p>• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, adapting to new standards as required.</p>
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related roles.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as Viewpoint Vista and Oracle.<br>• Strong knowledge of General Ledger processes, month-end close activities, and account reconciliations.<br>• Experience with financial statement preparation and audits.<br>• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and intercompany accounting.<br>• Ability to mentor and manage a team effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks.<br>• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate and improve processes.<br>• Strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate across departments.
