We are looking for a highly skilled Grant Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role is pivotal in managing the financial aspects of grants and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in grant administration and accounting, along with a strong ability to collaborate across departments and meet reporting requirements. Responsibilities:• Oversee the complete lifecycle of transit-related grants, including setup, budget tracking, billing, reporting, and audits.• Ensure compliance with federal requirements such as 2 CFR 200, Circular 5010, Circular 9030, and Circular 9040.• Monitor and process grant draws, reimbursements, and financial transactions in alignment with funding regulations.• Maintain accurate grant documentation, agreements, and supporting records for audit and retention purposes.• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, cost reallocations, and budget adjustments related to grants.• Conduct monthly reconciliations of grant revenues, expenses, and matching requirements.• Review project expenditures for compliance with grant budgets and funding guidelines.• Collaborate with various teams, including Procurement and Capital Projects, to ensure timely and accurate charging of eligible costs.• Generate financial reports and prepare reimbursement requests for federal and state agencies.• Assist in audits and reviews, including Triennial Reviews, State Management Reviews, and Single Audits.

• Proven experience in grant management and compliance within a government setting. • Strong proficiency in accounting systems such as Workday ERP, Tyler Technologies Munis, and Abila MIP. • Familiarity with federal grant guidelines and requirements, including NAV and fund administration. • Ability to analyze and reconcile financial data with attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent skills in preparing financial reports and documentation for audits and compliance. • Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work across multiple departments. • Knowledge of National Transit Database reporting and related financial segments. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
