We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Auditor to join our team on a contract basis. This position involves supporting a real estate development project in Charleston, South Carolina, and will focus on building scalable audit schedules and workbooks to prepare for an upcoming audit. If you have a strong background in financial auditing, especially within real estate development funds, and possess advanced Excel modeling expertise, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Develop and refine audit schedules and workbooks tailored to the needs of a large-scale real estate development project.<br>• Utilize advanced Excel modeling techniques to create formulas, automate data population, and ensure scalability.<br>• Collaborate with the controller to rebuild audit processes and frameworks from scratch.<br>• Prepare audit documentation to meet compliance standards and support future scalability for a multi-phase housing project.<br>• Extract and analyze data from systems to ensure accuracy and alignment with audit objectives.<br>• Implement tools like Spreadsheet Server or Smart View to enhance efficiency in audit reporting.<br>• Support pre-construction, development, and post-development audit phases for a multifamily real estate project.<br>• Adapt audit workflows to align with the scale of the project, which includes hundreds of homes and infrastructure for thousands more.<br>• Ensure timely delivery of audit deliverables in preparation for the January audit.<br>• Meet with stakeholders to understand objectives and independently drive audit processes forward.

• Proven experience in financial auditing, with a focus on operational and development fund audits.<br>• Strong expertise in Excel, including advanced formula creation and data modeling.<br>• Familiarity with tools like Spreadsheet Server or Smart View is highly desirable.<br>• Background in real estate development fund audits or large-scale multifamily projects is preferred.<br>• Knowledge of audit processes across pre-construction, development, and post-development phases.<br>• Experience with MRI Software or similar systems is advantageous.<br>• Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight deadlines.<br>• Solid understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and related audit standards.
