Senior Public Relations Specialist
<p>We are seeking an experienced Public Relations Contractor to provide coverage during maternity leave. This role will be content-heavy with a strong focus on drafting and managing press releases, blog posts for the corporate newsroom, and internal/external communications. The ideal candidate is a strong, independent writer with SaaS/tech experience and the ability to manage projects, approvals, and executive communications with ease.</p><p>You will work closely with product teams, communications leadership, and executives to ensure timely delivery of announcements and media content.</p><p> </p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Draft and edit press releases (4–5 major releases expected during contract) and corporate newsroom blog posts)</li><li>Translate complex technical/product information into clear, accessible language for broader audiences</li><li>Manage the content calendar and approval process, ensuring timely delivery of communications</li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with product teams, executives, and communications leadership</li><li>Draft internal communications and social media posts for corporate channels</li><li>Partner with communications leadership on reporter outreach and PR strategy opportunities</li><li>Leverage tools such as Asana for project management, PR Newswire and other newswire services for distribution, and Cision for media monitoring</li><li>Work directly with senior leadership, including CEO communications, requiring high EQ and executive presence</li></ul>
<ul><li>5–10 years of PR, corporate communications, or related experience</li><li>Strong, proven writing and editing skills; able to draft press releases with minimal revisions</li><li>Experience writing for tech, SaaS, or software companies preferred</li><li>Background in content calendar/project management (Asana experience a plus)</li><li>Ability to confidently work with executives and senior leaders</li><li>Familiarity with PR distribution platforms (e.g., PR Newswire) and media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision)</li><li>Experience with social media and internal communications drafting a plus</li><li>Familiarity with AI tools for content drafting is beneficial</li></ul><p> </p>
