Paraprofessional – Speech-Language Support
<p><strong>Client is looking for Paraprofessional – Speech-Language Support</strong> to assist students with speech and language needs under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). This role plays a vital part in supporting students’ communication development by reinforcing therapy goals, assisting during sessions, and helping create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support the Speech-Language Pathologist during individual and group therapy sessions</li><li>Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce speech and language goals</li><li>Assist students with articulation, fluency, voice, and expressive/receptive language activities</li><li>Help implement and support the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems when applicable</li><li>Track and document student progress and share observations with the SLP and teaching team</li><li>Assist with classroom accommodations and modifications to support communication development</li><li>Provide behavioral and emotional support to help students remain engaged and successful</li><li>Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student outcomes</li><li>Maintain confidentiality and comply with school policies and procedures</li></ul><p> </p><p> </p>
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree preferred)</li><li>Prior experience working with children or students with speech and language needs preferred</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills</li><li>Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students</li><li>Ability to follow therapy plans and guidance provided by the SLP</li><li>CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)</li></ul><p><br></p>
