Production Planner
We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team in Blue Ash, Ohio. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing industry by ensuring seamless production scheduling and material procurement. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and maintain production efficiency.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Create and modify purchase orders and shop work orders to align with production schedules.<br>• Communicate production concerns effectively to relevant departments, suppliers, and stakeholders.<br>• Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on capacity constraints and customer requirements.<br>• Share forecasted needs with subcontracted suppliers to ensure timely delivery.<br>• Evaluate and report supplier performance to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.<br>• Resolve quality, delivery, or cost issues by collaborating with suppliers, engineering, and strategic sourcing teams.<br>• Maintain departmental visual boards and implement 5S practices to foster organization.<br>• Work with value stream, commodity management, manufacturing, and engineering teams to prioritize production needs.<br>• Plan materials proactively to support resourcing and outsourcing projects, ensuring uninterrupted product flow.<br>• Participate in value stream mapping and Kaizen events to identify and eliminate waste while enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or production planning.<br>• Proficiency in purchasing activities, including material procurement and supplier management.<br>• Familiarity with purchasing strategies and functions within a manufacturing environment.<br>• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and record maintenance.<br>• Ability to develop and communicate production plans effectively.<br>• Experience in evaluating supplier performance and implementing improvement strategies.<br>• Knowledge of 5S practices and continuous improvement methodologies.<br>• Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate across departments and suppliers.
