Medical Receptionist
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and enjoys working directly with patients to ensure their experience is seamless and attentive to detail. As this is a long-term contract position, it offers stability and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient care and administrative excellence.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Welcome patients, visitors, and staff in an attentive and friendly manner while providing excellent customer service.<br>• Schedule appointments, follow-up visits, and medical procedures in alignment with provider instructions.<br>• Keep patient records accurate and updated within electronic health record systems.<br>• Verify and collect patient insurance details and documentation prior to scheduled appointments.<br>• Assist patients in updating demographic and insurance information as required.<br>• Provide reminders for upcoming appointments and reschedule when necessary.<br>• Coordinate efficiently with healthcare providers, nurses, and administrative teams to manage schedules.<br>• Ensure the confidentiality of patient information in compliance with healthcare standards.<br>• Perform general administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and data entry to support front office operations.<br>• Maintain a smooth patient flow by assisting with reception tasks and resolving any scheduling conflicts.
• Previous experience in a medical reception or front office role, preferably in a clinical setting.<br>• Familiarity with patient scheduling and basic medical terminology.<br>• Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to handle a fast-paced environment.<br>• Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other office software.<br>• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.<br>• Knowledge of insurance verification processes and patient documentation requirements.<br>• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare providers and administrative teams.
