Paralegal
<p>A mission‑driven firm focused on complex civil litigation involving environmental law is seeking a contract-to-hire Litigation Paralegal/Secretary to support six attorneys. This is a fully remote role for candidates based in California with strong civil litigation experience. Environmental experience is <em>not</em> required. A laptop will be provided, and the team offers a collaborative, high‑impact workflow environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Manage full docketing and calendaring across state and federal matters</li><li>Track deadlines, local rules, and judge‑driven timelines across multiple jurisdictions</li><li>Support case workflow and anticipate upcoming needs for attorneys</li><li>Prepare and format pleadings, TOCs, TOAs, exhibits, subpoenas, and proofs of service</li><li>File pleadings and manage service of process</li><li>Handle new matter openings and engagement agreements</li><li>Support limited discovery (interrogatories, form discovery, exhibit organization)</li><li>Assist with multi‑jurisdiction case filings and case cover sheets</li><li>Maintain organized workflows in Clio and Google Drive</li></ul>
<ul><li>Based in California with California civil litigation experience</li><li>Strong case management, calendaring, and rule‑tracking skills</li><li>Experience supporting state and federal court filings</li><li>Comfortable with multi‑jurisdictional filings and varying local rules</li><li>Strong executive function, organization, and adaptability</li><li>Able to work with a variety of attorney personalities</li><li>Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting case timelines</li><li>Teachable and open to learning new workflows and systems</li><li>Experience in Clio and Google Drive</li></ul>
