Senior Observability Engineer
<p><strong>Robert Half </strong>is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to hire a <strong>Senior Observability Engineer</strong> to design and implement scalable observability solutions that improve system resilience and visibility across complex enterprise platforms. In this role, you will lead efforts to enhance monitoring practices, enable rapid incident response, and drive innovation in observability tooling and strategy. <strong>This position is located in Austin, Texas.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Architect and maintain observability solutions leveraging AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, ELK, and related technologies</li><li>Implement distributed tracing with OpenTelemetry and adopt Monitoring as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation</li><li>Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and engineering teams to standardize logging, monitoring, and alerting practices</li><li>Optimize performance monitoring and assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and observability best practices</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>7+ years of experience in observability, monitoring, or site reliability engineering</li><li>Expertise with Dynatrace, ELK, SolarWinds, and scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)</li><li>Hands-on experience with Monitoring as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation</li><li>Solid knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized environments</li><li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, AIOps, and predictive monitoring techniques</li></ul><p><strong>Contract Benefit Offerings:</strong></p><ul><li>Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans)</li><li>401(k) and retirement plans</li><li>Commuter benefits</li><li>Employee and vendor discounts</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>And many more!</li></ul>
