<p><strong>Network Security Engineer</strong></p><p>On-site | Austin, TX | Contract-to-Hire</p><p><br></p><p>Our client is seeking a <strong>Network Security Engineer</strong> with hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise security infrastructure. This role focuses on maintaining a resilient, scalable, and secure network environment using a modern next‑generation firewall and security management platform.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, implement, and maintain secure network and perimeter security architecture</li><li>Configure and support next‑generation firewalls, including high availability, site‑to‑site and remote access VPNs, and advanced threat protection features</li><li>Deploy and manage centralized security management and analytics platforms</li><li>Monitor security events, analyze anomalies, and respond to incidents in a timely manner</li><li>Conduct routine security assessments and support compliance and risk‑management initiatives</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and operational standards</li><li>Provide senior‑level technical troubleshooting and collaborate with infrastructure and application teams</li><li>Participate in on‑call or after‑hours support rotations as required</li></ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>2+ years of experience in a network or security engineering role</li><li>Hands-on experience with enterprise firewall platforms and centralized security management tools</li><li>Understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies</li><li>Experience with network segmentation, secure remote access, and threat prevention controls</li><li>Solid understanding of network architecture, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and switching fundamentals</li><li>Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills</li><li>Relevant security certifications preferred</li><li>Experience integrating security platforms with identity providers or access management solutions</li><li>Exposure to scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, Ansible)</li><li>Familiarity with cloud environments and hybrid security architectures</li><li>Experience supporting environments with elevated security, audit, or compliance requirements</li></ul><p><strong>Contract Benefit Offerings:</strong></p><ul><li>Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans)</li><li>401(k) and retirement plans</li><li>Commuter benefits</li><li>Employee and vendor discounts</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>And many more!</li></ul>
