Cable Technician
<p>We are seeking a skilled <strong>Cable Technician</strong> to support structured cabling projects across commercial environments in the Metro Atlanta area. This role focuses on installing, terminating, and troubleshooting network and low-voltage cabling to ensure reliable connectivity for enterprise customers. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, patch panel work, cable routing, and general network closet organization.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Install, route, label, and secure Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling in commercial buildings.</li><li>Pull, terminate, and test copper and/or fiber cabling following industry standards.</li><li>Perform patch panel termination, punch-downs, and cable dressing within IDF/MDF closets.</li><li>Assist with mounting and installing low-voltage hardware such as access points, cameras, racks, and cable trays.</li><li>Conduct troubleshooting for connectivity issues, cable continuity, and signal quality.</li><li>Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job scopes.</li><li>Adhere to safety policies and maintain clean, organized work areas.</li><li>Collaborate with project managers and field teams to complete tasks on schedule.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Required Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>1–3+ years of structured cabling or low-voltage installation experience.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Cat5e/Cat6 cabling standards and termination methods.</li><li>Experience with punch-down tools, toners, testers, and labeling equipment.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on ladders/lifts as needed.</li><li>Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, or construction sites when required.</li><li>Reliable transportation for travel to various client sites in the Atlanta area.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience installing or mounting WAPs, cameras, and network hardware.</li><li>Familiarity with fiber termination/testing (LC/SC connectors).</li><li>BICSI certification is a plus but not required.</li><li>Previous work in commercial/enterprise environments.</li></ul><p><br></p>
