<p><strong>Accessibility Designer (Contract)</strong></p><p><strong></strong></p><p>We are looking for a passionate <strong>Accessibility Designer</strong> to join our team in <strong>Atlanta, GA</strong>. In this role, you won't just be "checking boxes" for compliance; you’ll be a champion for inclusive design, ensuring our digital experiences are usable, delightful, and equitable for everyone—regardless of ability.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Location:</strong> Atlanta, GA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite required)</li><li><strong>Duration:</strong> 4-month contract</li><li><strong>Commitment:</strong> 40 hours per week</li></ul><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>As an Accessibility Designer, you will bridge the gap between design, engineering, and the end-user.</p><ul><li><strong>Design Reviews & Audits:</strong> Evaluate wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA compliance.</li><li><strong>Annotation & Documentation:</strong> Create detailed accessibility hand-off specs for developers (e.g., focus order, heading levels, ARIA labels, and alt-text).</li><li><strong>Inclusive Prototyping:</strong> Build and test prototypes that account for screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and high-contrast modes.</li><li><strong>Collaboration:</strong> Work closely with Product Designers to bake accessibility into the UI/UX process from day one, rather than "bolting it on" at the end.</li><li><strong>Advocacy:</strong> Conduct internal workshops or "office hours" to educate the broader team on inclusive design patterns.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Experience:</strong> 3+ years in UX/UI design with a heavy focus on digital accessibility.</li><li><strong>Technical Knowledge:</strong> Deep understanding of <strong>WCAG 2.1/2.2 guidelines</strong> and Section 508 standards.</li><li><strong>Tooling:</strong> Proficiency in <strong>Figma</strong> (and accessibility plugins like Stark or Adee), as well as experience with assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver).</li><li><strong>Portfolio:</strong> A strong portfolio demonstrating how you’ve solved complex accessibility challenges in real-world products.</li><li><strong>Soft Skills:</strong> The ability to explain technical accessibility requirements to non-technical stakeholders with empathy and clarity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p><p>You’ll be joining a fast-paced environment where your work has an immediate impact on user independence.
