Category Manager 2
We are looking for a skilled Category Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Athens, Texas. In this role, you will oversee procurement activities, ensuring the effective purchase of software, services, and systems. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with stakeholders, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to process improvements. Training will be conducted onsite, and the role may involve occasional in-office work if local.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage procurement operations, including the creation of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts.<br>• Execute solution-based procurements for software, services, and systems within SAP ECC or SAP R/3.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams to understand business needs and align procurement strategies accordingly.<br>• Negotiate terms, pricing, and conditions with suppliers to maximize value for the organization.<br>• Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.<br>• Maintain thorough procurement records and documentation to support audits and compliance reviews.<br>• Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.<br>• Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and compliance standards.<br>• Provide support during audits by supplying necessary documentation and reports.<br>• Work closely with stakeholders to streamline procurement processes and resolve any issues.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles.<br>• Proficiency in SAP ECC or SAP R/3 for managing procurement processes.<br>• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.<br>• Excellent organizational skills to maintain accurate records and documentation.<br>• Knowledge of procurement policies, compliance standards, and auditing processes.<br>• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at various levels.<br>• High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.<br>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities.
