Branch/Retail Banking Clerk
<p>We are looking for a meticulous Senior Teller to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will provide exceptional service to members by handling a variety of banking operations while promoting the credit union’s products and services. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, this position offers an opportunity to engage directly with members and contribute to their financial well-being.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Greet members and visitors warmly, ensuring attentive and efficient service.</p><p>• Promote and recommend credit union products and services tailored to members’ needs.</p><p>• Open new membership accounts and assist members with account transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments.</p><p>• Resolve member inquiries or complaints, escalating issues when necessary.</p><p>• Perform account maintenance tasks such as updating joint ownership details and address changes.</p><p>• Manage the consumer loan process from application review to closing, ensuring compliance with lending policies.</p><p>• Refer mortgage loan requests to appropriate staff and maintain clear communication throughout the process.</p><p>• Handle cash drawer operations, including opening, balancing, and closing, while adhering to branch cash limits.</p><p>• Assist with vault management and other branch-related responsibilities as needed.</p><p>• Provide financial counseling and recommend appropriate deposit or loan products to meet members’ financial goals.</p>
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail banking or a similar role.<br>• Proficiency in handling cash transactions and maintaining accuracy.<br>• Strong knowledge of banking operations, including account management and loan processing.<br>• Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual in Spanish is preferred.<br>• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve member concerns efficiently.<br>• Familiarity with financial products and services offered by credit unions.<br>• Adept at multitasking and managing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.<br>• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and fostering positive member relationships.
