Assistant Controller
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this contract position, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for our real estate portfolio while collaborating closely with property managers and other team members. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality financial insights, this role is an excellent opportunity to make an impact.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Maintain and oversee property accounts, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.<br>• Conduct detailed analyses to identify financial trends, track expenses, and provide actionable insights.<br>• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support operational and strategic goals.<br>• Collaborate with property management teams to ensure seamless financial processes and compliance.<br>• Audit and reconcile accounts and transactions to uphold financial accuracy and integrity.<br>• Contribute to improving property performance through strategic financial recommendations.<br>• Assist with month-end close processes and general ledger management.<br>• Support financial statement audits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.<br>• Generate financial reports and ensure timely submission to stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.<br>• Proven experience in property accounting, with knowledge of relevant systems (e.g., Yardi preferred).<br>• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.<br>• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.<br>• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.<br>• Familiarity with financial statement audits and DCAA compliance.<br>• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team.<br>• Advanced proficiency in financial reporting tools and software.
