Mobile Privacy Policy

This privacy policy ("Policy") describes how Robert Half International Inc. and its subsidiaries ("We", "we", "us" or "Robert Half") may use and disclose information that we may collect about you through the App. This Policy is a part of the Terms.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

When you register with the App, upload your resume, apply for jobs, contact or communicate with us, save job searches, respond to surveys, or otherwise use the App, we may collect certain “Personal Information,” which is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. The categories of Personal Information we may collect include: your name and contact information (email, address and phone number), your location, your job search criteria and preferences, your job application status, your employment experience, educational history, your skills, reference information, background information, any login ID or email address and password created by you, and other information you insert into your resume or communicate to us, including but not limited to your interests, hobbies, members, awards and accolades received, career goal, computer and language skills, and volunteer work. By providing your mobile phone number to us, you opt in and consent to receive text messages from us, which includes but is not limited to text messages sent through an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent to receive marketing text messages is not required as a condition of utilizing our services. If you do not wish to receive marketing text messages, do not provide us with your mobile phone number.

We use Personal Information to register you with the App, to provide you with information regarding employment opportunities and career-related information, and to otherwise provide you with requested information or services. We may from time to time use your Personal Information to send you automated email messages, text messages (message and data rates may apply), or marketing materials regarding our services, including employment information. We may also use Personal Information for our business purposes, such as data analysis, audits, and improving our services.

We have not and will not sell any Personal Information you provide to us.

Disclosures of Personal Information

Robert Half may disclose Personal Information to third parties in the following circumstances: (1) to our third-party service providers who perform business functions and services on our behalf; (2) to comply with applicable laws, the service of legal process, or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (a) comply with the law requiring such disclosure; (b) protect the rights or property of Robert Half or its affiliated companies; (c) prevent a crime or protect national security; or (d) protect the personal safety of the users or the public. We also may disclose or transfer information to a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).

You authorize Robert Half, Robert Half’s Customers, and their respective agents to make investigations and inquiries into your employment and educational history and other related matters as may be necessary in arriving at an employment decision. Robert Half may use a third-party vendor to perform such investigations/inquiries. If a third-party vendor is used, you will be provided additional disclosures and authorization forms as required by applicable laws prior to a third party performing such investigations/inquiries.

You release employers, schools, and other persons from all liability in responding to inquiries connected with your application and you specifically authorize the release of your information by any schools, businesses, individuals, services or other entities listed by you in your resume or Personal Information you provide to us. Furthermore, you authorize Robert Half and its agents to release any reference information to Customers who request such information for purposes of evaluating your credentials, skills and experience. You also authorize Robert Half to track your current location when you utilize the App functionality requiring your location such as a feature telling you where you are in relation to a Robert Half office or a feature narrowing your job search based on your location.

You certify as to the accuracy of the Personal Information and in any resume or other work history information. You understand that any misstatement of fact may cause you to be refused employment by Customer, to lose your employment once hired by Customer, or may result in removal of your account from the App.

Access to or Deletion of Personal Information

Your Rights:

If you provide Personal Information to us, you have the right to ask us to disclose to you:

(1) The categories of personal information we collected about you.

(2) The categories of sources from which the personal information is collected.

(3) The business or commercial purpose for collecting or selling personal information.

(4) The categories of third parties with whom we share personal information.

(5) The specific pieces of personal information we collected about you.

(6) The categories of personal information that we disclosed for a business purpose.

You also have the right to access and/or request deletion of Personal Information you provide to us.

If you seek disclosure of, access to, or deletion of your Personal Information, please send us an email to [email protected] with the subject line “Information Request – California Consumer Privacy Act”) or contact us via phone number at (650) 234-6000 or visit our website at https://www.roberthalf.com/contact-us. If we receive a verifiable request from you, we will promptly take steps to disclose and deliver, free of charge, the personal information you request either electronically or by mail. You may seek this access no more than twice in a twelve (12) month period. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we shall have no obligation to provide you said Personal Information if we have already deleted your Personal Information from our records and databases.

Please do note that we are not required to comply with your request to delete Personal Information if it is necessary for us to: (a) complete a transaction for which the Personal Information was collected, or provide services as requested by you, or reasonably anticipated to be needed within the context of our ongoing business relationship, or to otherwise perform a contract between us and you; (b) detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity; (c) debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality; (d) exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law; (e) comply with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act pursuant to Chapter 3.6 (commencing with Section 1546) of Title 12 of Part 2 of the Penal Code; (f) to enable solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with your expectations based on your relationship with us; (g) comply with a legal obligation; (h) otherwise use your personal information, internally, in a lawful manner that is compatible with the context in which the consumer provided the information.

Collection and Use of Other Information

Other Information” is any information that does not reveal your specific identity or does not directly relate to an identifiable individual. We may collect Other Information in a variety of ways, including:

Through your device: Certain information may be collected through your device, including your screen resolution, operating system name and version, device manufacturer and model, language. We use this information to ensure that the App functions properly.

Statistical Information: We also gather statistical information about use of the App to enhance its functionality, understand how it is used and assist us with resolving questions about it.

Third Party Services

This Policy does not address, and we are not responsible for, the privacy, information or other practices of any third parties, including any third party operating any site or service to which the App links.

Security

We use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures designed to protect Personal Information within our organization. Unfortunately, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please immediately notify us in accordance with the “Contacting Us” section below.

Choices

If you no longer want to receive marketing-related emails from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out by using the mechanism contained in each such email. If you no longer wish to receive marketing-related texts from us on a going-forward basis, you may opt-out by texting “STOP” to us at any time. You may text “HELP” to us or call 1-800-803-9336 for assistance relating to text messages we send. For more information, you may also text HELP to short code 37938.

As part of the App, you may receive push notifications sent to you outside or inside the App which may include alerts, badges, banners and sounds ("Push Messages"). If you agree to allow Push Messages, then the App will generate Push messages on your mobile device. You may control the Push Messages in your device’s or the App’s settings. Some of the Push Messages may be related to your location. Your carrier may charge standard data and other fees for use of Push Messages, and these fees may appear on your mobile bill or be deducted from your pre-paid balance. Your carrier may prohibit or restrict certain Push Messages and certain Push Messages may be incompatible with your carrier or mobile device. Contact your carrier with questions regarding these issues. You may discontinue Push Messages in your device’s or the App’s settings or by deleting the App. We may collect information related to your use of Push Messages. If you have registered for Push Messages, you agree to notify us of any changes to your mobile number, as applicable, and update your account on the App to reflect this change.

Use of App by Minors

The App is not directed to individuals under the age of eighteen (18) and, we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under 18.
If you are a resident of California, under 18 and a registered user of the App, you may ask us to remove content or information that you have posted to the App by writing to [email protected]. Please note that your request does not ensure complete or comprehensive removal of the content or information, as, for example, some of your content may have been reposted by another user.

Jurisdictional Issues

The App is controlled and operated by us from the United States and is not intended to subject us to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the United States. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you utilize the App in Canada, Robert Half agrees to be subject to the applicable laws of Canada.
