Property Accountant
<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to join our client's team on a contract basis in Vancouver, British Columbia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial operations and reporting for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. If you enjoy working in a dynamic real estate environment and have a strong background in property management accounting, we encourage you to apply.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis within established deadlines.</p><p>• Manage billing processes including management fees, rent rolls, and tenant chargebacks.</p><p>• Handle tax filings and remittances, including non-resident tax installments, ensuring compliance with regulations.</p><p>• Prepare cash flow statements, monthly distributions, and track capital expenditures in collaboration with Property Managers.</p><p>• Review accounts receivable balances and resolve tenant queries in coordination with Property Managers.</p><p>• Compile year-end working papers and liaise with auditors to facilitate financial reviews.</p><p>• Assist in budget preparation, property forecasting, and operating expense installments.</p><p>• Update tenant charges, property recovery matrices, and lease details in Yardi Voyager.</p><p>• Review and adjust accounts payable coding for accuracy and organize accounting documentation.</p><p>• Support special projects such as property setups, sales, and provide vacation coverage for colleagues as needed.</p>
• Degree or diploma in accounting, commerce, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of two years of experience in property management accounting.<br>• Proficiency in Yardi Voyager, PayScan, and Vendor Cafe is an asset.<br>• Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and CAM reconciliations.<br>• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.<br>• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.<br>• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.<br>• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
