<p><strong>Controller</strong></p><p>We are supporting a high-growth, innovative company in the cleantech space with the search for a Controller. Reporting to the Director, Finance, and located in Richmond, this is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven organization at a pivotal stage of growth and contribute to the advancement of groundbreaking technology. The Controller will oversee financial operations, reporting, and planning, while leading a small accounting team. This role blends technical accounting with FP& A, offering the opportunity to build strong internal controls, improve reporting processes, and provide strategic insights to leadership.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong>will include but not be limited to<strong>:</strong></p><p>- Lead monthly/annual close, financial reporting, audits, and compliance</p><p>- Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting support, and scenario analysis</p><p>- Assist in the development of business models and processes to support short- and long-term financial models</p><p>- Oversee tax filings across multiple jurisdictions with external advisors</p><p>- Provide financial insights and analysis to senior leadership and the Board</p><p>- Mentor and develop a small accounting team</p><p>- Enhance ERP (NetSuite) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)</p><p><br></p>
<p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p><p>As the ideal candidate, you can “see the forest through the trees”. You are able to see the big picture and the direction the business is going but can roll your sleeves up and get into the details as needed. You are a team player and are willing to pitch-in and contribute. You bring high emotional intelligence, low ego, a sense of humour, and a commitment to integrity, progress, and purpose. Additionally, you will bring:</p><p><br></p><p>- CPA with 5–8+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including people leadership</p><p>- Strong US GAAP or IFRS knowledge and audit/public company reporting experience</p><p>- Experience with consolidations, multi-currency, and tax compliance</p><p>- Exposure to SOX/IPO readiness is an asset</p><p>- Skilled in Excel, ERP, and BI tools (NetSuite, Power BI) is ideal</p><p>- Background in capital-intensive, venture-backed, or growth-stage industries an asset</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>This position offers</strong></p><p>- A competitive salary of $130,000 – $160,000 (based on experience)</p><p>- Comprehensive benefits and RRSP contributions</p><p>- Four weeks’ vacation</p><p>- Flexible, hybrid schedule</p><p>- Professional development support</p><p>- Collaborative culture with team events and activities</p><p><br></p><p>If this sounds like the role for you, please apply today!
