  • Assistant Controller We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller for a mission-driven organization. This role is ideal for an experienced nonprofit accounting detail oriented who can support day-to-day financial operations while partnering with senior leadership on reporting, compliance, budgeting, and financial planning. The Assistant Controller will help maintain strong internal controls, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, support audit activities, oversee key payroll and accounts payable processes, and contribute to broader financial strategy. This position also plays an important role in staff supervision, process improvement, and stewardship of organizational and donor-restricted funds. Primary Responsibilities Support accounting and business office functions, including billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting. Help develop, implement, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures. Ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB, and federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Prepare monthly financial statements and leadership reports. Support the annual budgeting process and maintain budget-related records. Assist with the annual audit and coordinate with external auditors and agencies as needed. Oversee or support tax filings and reporting deadlines. Partner with fundraising or development teams to ensure proper gift recording, reconciliation, and donor fund compliance. Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to support organizational goals.
