Litigation Assistant, Office Manager<p>A high-end, boutique firm in DTLA is seeking a litigation assistant / office manager. RHL placed another legal professional here earlier this year who is thriving! This 7-person law firm, specializing in trials at the complex commercial litigation level: white collar, internal investigations, and business litigation, is family-oriented and kind. Two partners used to be federal prosecutors - they do high-end work!</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities of Role</u>: </strong></p><p>o Drafting, proofreading, and editing attorney work product</p><p>o Managing case file electronically, alongside the paralegal, in Google Drive and Clio (pleadings, client docs, comms with attorneys, etc. )</p><p>o Attorney calendaring</p><p>o Attorney correspondence management</p><p>o Interacting with CFO on question re. bills and invoices, getting those out (the paralegal does this too, but this person would run point)</p><p> “We have clients with unique billing software systems that the admin system has to figure out and upload correctly”</p><p>o Booking travel for attorneys</p><p>o Helping with litigation tasks such as formatting pleadings, generating TOAs/TOCs, and occasional filings (state and federal, but not a must-have)</p><p> The firm only has 4-6 active matters at once (emphasis of quality over quantity)</p><p>o General office management – making sure they are stocked up in snacks and coffee, receiving mail and sending it out, ordering holidays cards and client gifts, etc. This is probably 50% of the role!</p><p>· Software: Clio for timekeeping, GoogleCal for calendaring, GoogleDrive for saving documents, Disco for document review, Westlaw for legal research, Unicourt for court research.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Details of Role</u></strong>:</p><p>· <u>Hours</u>: 9-5. OT if necessary, but not often. 7.5 hour day. 30 minute lunch break. </p><p>· <u>Hybrid Schedule</u>: Ideally this person is on-site 5x/week. However, for strong litigation assistant/office manager applicants, 3-4x/week is possible.</p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Profile that would be a fit</u>:</strong></p><p>o Someone who is burnt out on litigation and doesn’t want to run a full desk, but hop in here and there would be ideal!</p><p>o Prior litigation assistant/secretary experience (ideally on the defense side) is a huge plus!</p><p>o Someone who understands many hats must be worn at small firms</p><p>o Someone with an exquisite attention to detail (will be asked in the interview about how they’ve had to act this way)</p><p>o Someone who wants to find their next long-term home. They need more than a 2-year commitment. Stability in this seat is important! </p>Overnight Logistics Coordinator<p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><ol><li>Engage daily with the USPS staff within the Los Angeles office to build trust and rapport with their team</li><li>Act as a point of contact onsite for issue resolution</li><li>Ensure safety audits are complete with the driver on all USPS loads (i.e. drivers chalking wheels, turning in the keys, etc.)</li><li>Ensure trailer audits, inspections, and inventory levels are all accurate and completed</li><li>Conduct weekly meetings with USPS On-Site Leadership and Operations to review the account performance</li><li>Engage with the drivers of all loads to ensure on-time delivery and to proactively solve problems as issues arise</li><li>Coordinate pick-ups between expeditors and drivers when necessary</li><li>Ensure timely loading and departure to comply with USPS standards</li><li>Monitor on-time departure for Carrier Performance</li><li>Manage basic shipment execution tasks (review schedule of pick-ups and deliveries and basic track and trace).</li><li>Update our own TMS accurately.</li><li>Proactively communicate internally to our sales team regarding shipment updates, accessorial charges, etc.</li><li>Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure the account is being appropriately serviced.</li></ol><p><br></p>Paralegal<p>Robert Half is partnering with an established business litigation firm in Encino that is looking for a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal to join the team. The ideal person will have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation. </p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><p>• Assist in the preparation of briefs and deposition summaries.</p><p>• Handle e-filing tasks, primarily for the State and occasionally for Federal courts.</p><p>• Manage and organize calendars.</p><p>• Prepare charts, document summations, and utilize Word and Excel for various tasks.</p><p>• Perform light paralegal tasks and provide support as needed.</p><p>• Assist in billing functions.</p><p>• Use legal research tools such as Westlaw for jury instructions.</p><p>• Maintain document management systems using iManage, training will be provided if needed.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Compensation:</u></strong></p><p>• Salary from $80,000 to $100,000 DOE</p><p>• Full coverage healthcare (medical, dental & vision).</p><p>• 2 weeks PTO, paid holidays and 8 paid sick days.</p><p>• 401k, profit sharing with 3% firm contribution.</p><p>• Parking paid for.</p><p>• Laid back group at a busy, active practice where employee happiness and positive culture are top priority.</p><p>• Excellent tenure, first open position open at this firm in 7 years.</p>
