Project Assistant
We are looking for a skilled Project Assistant to join a non-profit organization in Washington, DC, on a contract basis. This role involves providing translation support for Amharic documents and contributing to the smooth execution of project objectives. If you are detail-oriented and possess strong linguistic skills, we encourage you to apply.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Translate written materials from Amharic to English and vice versa with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.<br>• Review and edit translations to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with project goals.<br>• Manage and organize project-related documents to maintain accessibility and order.<br>• Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and achieve project milestones.<br>• Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and preparing reports.<br>• Assist in the coordination of project activities and communication between stakeholders.<br>• Ensure compliance with organizational standards and guidelines in all project documentation.<br>• Identify and address any discrepancies or gaps in translated materials.<br>• Participate in team discussions to offer insights and solutions related to translation and project processes.
• Proficiency in both Amharic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.<br>• Experience in document translation, ideally within a detail-oriented or non-profit setting.<br>• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.<br>• Familiarity with cultural nuances in both Amharic and English languages.<br>• Proficiency in common office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.<br>• Prior experience in a project assistant or administrative support role is preferred.<br>• Availability to work on a contract basis with flexibility to meet project deadlines.
