Labor and Employment Paralegal
<p>Our client, a busy mid-sized litigation firm in Walnut Creek, is seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Paralegal to support attorneys in a high-volume practice handling wage & hour, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims. This is a contract opportunity with potential to extend or convert and offers a hybrid work schedule.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Draft and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production/admission)</li><li>Assist attorneys with motions, pleadings, and briefs for state and federal court</li><li>Conduct legal research and fact investigations on labor and employment claims</li><li>Prepare case chronologies, witness binders, and trial exhibits</li><li>Coordinate depositions, mediations, and hearings; manage calendars and logistics</li><li>Maintain organized case files and deadlines using docketing systems</li><li>Support attorneys with client communication and intake</li></ul>
<p><br></p><ul><li>2+ years of paralegal experience focused on labor and employment litigation</li><li>Strong knowledge of California labor/employment law, including PAGA and FEHA</li><li>Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts</li><li>Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program strongly preferred</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities</li></ul><p>The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment.</p>
