Division Controller
<p>We are looking for a Division Controller to lead the financial operations of our client in Stockton, California. This role combines day-to-day accounting oversight with strategic partnership, ensuring financial activity is accurate, timely, and aligned with corporate expectations. The ideal candidate brings strong operational leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to guide both finance staff and business leaders toward disciplined financial execution.</p><p><br></p><p>For immediate consideration, please contact Shantel Poole via LinkedIn or call 916-649-0832.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Direct the division’s accounting activities across billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger management, and monthly close procedures.</p><p>• Ensure financial records are completed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with internal controls, company policies, and reporting requirements.</p><p>• Partner with senior finance and operations leaders to provide insight into business performance and support informed decision-making.</p><p>• Monitor the quality and integrity of financial data within approved corporate platforms and resolve issues that could affect reporting reliability.</p><p>• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team by setting clear expectations, strengthening accountability, and building capabilities for future growth.</p><p>• Review existing financial workflows and standard procedures, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.</p><p>• Communicate financial results, operational updates, and emerging risks to key stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.</p><p>• Support divisional alignment with corporate finance standards and help implement process or system-related changes as needed within financial operations.</p>
<p>• 5+ years demonstrated experience in a controllership with responsibility for full-cycle accounting operations.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger oversight, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.</p><p>• Proven ability to lead teams in a hands-on environment while maintaining high standards for accuracy, timeliness, and accountability.</p><p>• Solid understanding of internal controls, financial compliance practices, and corporate reporting discipline.</p><p>• Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial information to operational and executive stakeholders.</p><p>• Experience using structured processes and standard operating procedures to improve financial consistency and performance.</p><p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.</p><p>• Background in transportation, logistics, industrial services, or a similarly operational industry is advantageous.</p>
