Litigation Secretary
<p>Overview</p><p>We are seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join our dynamic legal team in Sacramento California on a contract basis. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong organizational skills, and has a proven track record of supporting litigation attorneys in a California law firm setting.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Prepare, format, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence, in compliance with California state and federal court rules.</li><li>Manage attorneys’ calendars, scheduling court appearances, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.</li><li>Coordinate e-filing and service of documents with courts and opposing counsel.</li><li>Maintain and organize case files, both electronic and physical, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.</li><li>Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.</li><li>Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating logistics.</li><li>Handle administrative tasks such as time entry, billing, and expense reporting.</li><li>Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a high-pressure environment.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Litigation Secretary in a California law firm.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of California state and federal court procedures, filing requirements, and deadlines.</li><li>Proficiency with legal software (e.g., iManage, Clio, or similar) and e-filing systems.</li><li>Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).</li><li>Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Familiarity with legal terminology and litigation processes.</li></ul><p><br></p>
