We are looking for a skilled Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Plymouth, Minnesota. This role requires expertise in managing accounting operations, inventory accounting, budgeting, and month-end close procedures. Ideal candidates will bring a hands-on approach, experience in dynamic environments such as startups, and the ability to tackle complex accounting challenges while contributing to strategic financial decision-making. Responsibilities: • Oversee all financial management activities, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. • Manage key accounting operations such as general ledger entries, inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and revenue recognition. • Develop and implement robust accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting. • Prepare and present monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and other reports to stakeholders. • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and financial accuracy. • Collaborate with leadership on financial modeling and strategy development. • Support the budgeting process and provide decision-making assistance to senior management. • Address challenges related to inventory accounting and implement systems to streamline operations. • Assist in managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and consultants. • Create presentation materials for board meetings, including financial reports and insights.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs. • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and month-end close procedures. • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and accrual accounting. • Familiarity with revenue recognition and audit preparation processes. • Background in managing journal entries and annual inventory reconciliation. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and problem-solving skills. • Preferred experience with NetSuite and prior exposure to medical device industry accounting. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
