<p><strong>Security Developer III (Contract)</strong></p><p><strong>Job Type:</strong> 31 Week Contract, Potential for Extension or Conversion</p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Philadelphia, PA </p><p><strong>Pay: </strong>Available on W2</p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>An innovative cybersecurity team is seeking a <strong>Security Developer III</strong> to design, build, and enhance secure applications and platforms at scale. This role focuses on developing robust security solutions that protect systems, data, and users while driving continuous improvement across modern technology environments.</p><p>This position requires a highly adaptable developer with strong engineering fundamentals, experience working with distributed systems, and a passion for secure software development. The ideal candidate is both hands-on and collaborative, with the ability to mentor peers and contribute to evolving security practices.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, develop, and implement secure software components for enterprise products and systems</li><li>Build, optimize, and maintain reusable, secure code and libraries as a subject matter expert</li><li>Identify security gaps and enhance existing platforms to strengthen application and system security</li><li>Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to expand and improve platform capabilities</li><li>Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and deployment</li><li>Support DevOps processes by contributing to build automation, deployment pipelines, and operational efficiency</li><li>Perform troubleshooting and operational support for applications and security components</li><li>Conduct code reviews and perform static code analysis to ensure quality, performance, and security standards</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions</li><li>Mentor and support junior team members, promoting best practices in secure development</li></ul>
<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>Proven experience in software development, including design, architecture, and production support</li><li>Strong understanding of secure coding practices and application security principles</li><li>Experience working with applications that rely on multiple web services and operate at scale</li><li>Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, Go, or similar)</li><li>Familiarity with open-source frameworks and modern development tools</li></ul><p>•<strong>Technical &amp; Functional Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with DevOps tools for automating build, deployment, and release processes</li><li>Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and Agile methodologies</li><li>Hands-on experience with testing tools and quality assurance practices</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments</li><li>Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements</li></ul><p> <strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><ul><li>Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and non-technical teams</li><li>Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Detail-oriented with a focus on building secure, scalable solutions</li><li>Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement</li><li>Passion for cybersecurity and secure application development</li></ul><p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p><ul><li>A strong foundation in software engineering with a focus on security and scalability</li><li>Experience contributing to high-impact, enterprise-level systems</li><li>A collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovation</li><li>Interest in staying current with emerging technologies and security trends</li></ul>
