Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. As a vital part of our accounting department, you will oversee key financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly reconciliations. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a growing retail organization.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions.<br>• Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.<br>• Oversee month-end close procedures, including reviewing journal entries and preparing financial reports.<br>• Review payroll data and ensure accuracy before submission to the payroll provider.<br>• Generate monthly profit and loss statements and other financial reports to support decision-making.<br>• Monitor revenue recognition processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards.<br>• Collaborate with the team to enhance operational efficiency and address financial discrepancies.<br>• Assist in transitioning financial systems and maintaining integrity during changes.<br>• Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies in all accounting activities.<br>• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.<br>• Proven experience with month-end close and general ledger management.<br>• Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes.<br>• Expertise in bank reconciliations and financial reporting.<br>• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software is advantageous.<br>• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.<br>• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.<br>• Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
