We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. As a vital part of our accounting department, you will oversee key financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and monthly reconciliations. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of a growing retail organization. Responsibilities: • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely transactions. • Perform account reconciliations and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. • Oversee month-end close procedures, including reviewing journal entries and preparing financial reports. • Review payroll data and ensure accuracy before submission to the payroll provider. • Generate monthly profit and loss statements and other financial reports to support decision-making. • Monitor revenue recognition processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards. • Collaborate with the team to enhance operational efficiency and address financial discrepancies. • Assist in transitioning financial systems and maintaining integrity during changes. • Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies in all accounting activities. • Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance and reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. • Proven experience with month-end close and general ledger management. • Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes. • Expertise in bank reconciliations and financial reporting. • Familiarity with NetSuite or similar accounting software is advantageous. • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
