Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our leadership team in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. This role will oversee core accounting operations, deliver meaningful financial insights, and help guide sound business decisions across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sharp analytical ability, and a collaborative approach to supporting both daily operations and long-term growth.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Lead the monthly close cycle and improve turnaround times so leadership has prompt access to accurate financial results.<br>• Prepare, review, and enhance financial reporting packages, including variance and margin analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions.<br>• Maintain a strong internal control environment by evaluating processes, identifying gaps, and implementing practical improvements.<br>• Coordinate annual audit activities, manage supporting documentation, and work closely with external auditors to ensure an efficient review process.<br>• Oversee account reconciliations, confirm the integrity of balance sheet activity, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.<br>• Monitor inventory-related controls, including cycle count accuracy, obsolete stock review, and costing practices that support profitability.<br>• Partner with department leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and monthly comparisons of actual performance against plan.<br>• Supervise and develop accounting staff while providing financial guidance to cross-functional leaders across sales, operations, and production.<br>• Direct the preparation of financial statements, management reports, regulatory filings, and other business performance metrics required by stakeholders.<br>• Contribute to strategic planning, performance measurement programs, and company standards related to systems, workflow, budgets, and financial oversight.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance leadership, with substantial responsibility for controllership or related functions.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.<br>• Strong analytical skills with experience in variance analysis, margin review, budgeting, and forecasting.<br>• Working knowledge of inventory accounting, cycle count processes, costing, and inventory analysis within an operational environment.<br>• Proven ability to strengthen internal controls and support external audit requirements.<br>• Experience leading accounting teams and collaborating effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional departments.<br>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and process improvements simultaneously.
