Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) processes, audits, budgeting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and tax compliance for a growing healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, deep expertise in financial operations, and a strategic mindset to support the organization’s ambitious goals.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial reports using Sage Intacct.<br>• Develop a thorough understanding of the organization’s business model and key performance drivers.<br>• Lead and coordinate external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.<br>• Establish and maintain robust revenue recognition policies and internal controls.<br>• Manage month-end processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.<br>• Drive the FP&A function to deliver insightful revenue analysis and forecasting.<br>• Spearhead the annual budgeting process and contribute to long-term strategic planning efforts.<br>• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations across multiple states.<br>• Facilitate seamless integration of acquisitions and record transactions accurately.<br>• Conduct financial due diligence for M&A activities and provide strategic recommendations.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.<br>• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting roles.<br>• Proven ability to lead and develop team members effectively.<br>• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.<br>• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical accounting documents and regulations.<br>• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<br>• Experience in healthcare or physician practice settings is highly desirable.<br>• Familiarity with private equity environments and Sage Intacct is a plus.
