Robert Half is partnering with a well-established technology organization in the Milwaukee area to help them hire an experienced Systems Administrator. This role is responsible for maintaining server, virtualization, identity, database, and application-hosting technologies while helping ensure systems remain secure, reliable, and available for both internal teams and external customers. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, infrastructure improvement, and working across a broad range of technologies. What You'll Be Doing<ul><li>Administer and support Windows Server environments across production and non-production systems</li><li>Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, and identity-related services</li><li>Support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including maintenance, backups, and recovery processes</li><li>Configure and maintain virtualization platforms such as VMware, Citrix, and Remote Desktop Services</li><li>Support web and application hosting technologies including IIS, Tomcat, and related services</li><li>Monitor system performance, availability, and security while proactively addressing issues</li><li>Develop and maintain automation and scripting solutions using PowerShell and other tools</li><li>Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and network-related problems</li><li>Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations</li><li>Participate in an on-call rotation and assist with incident response when needed</li></ul>

<ul><li>3+ years of experience administering Windows-based server environments</li><li>Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Server administration</li><li>Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments</li><li>Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix, or Remote Desktop Services</li><li>Experience with PowerShell or other scripting and automation tools</li><li>Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and within a team</li></ul>Nice to Have<ul><li>Experience supporting Linux systems or mixed Windows/Linux environments</li><li>Exposure to public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud</li><li>Knowledge of enterprise backup, disaster recovery, or firewall technologies</li><li>Experience supporting ERP platforms or additional database technologies</li><li>Familiarity with IT service management or structured support frameworks</li></ul>
