Software Engineer
<p>We are seeking a <strong>Senior Software Engineer</strong> to join a collaborative product engineering team supporting applications within a highly regulated environment. This is a hands-on technical role for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, contributing to technical design, and partnering closely with Product, Architecture, and business teams.</p><p>The organization has recently transitioned to a <strong>product operating model</strong>, creating an opportunity for an experienced engineer to help shape and continuously improve products that support important compliance and regulatory functions.</p><p>This position will have a strong voice in technical discussions and will work closely with architecture and engineering leadership to design, develop, integrate, and improve enterprise applications.</p><p>What You’ll Do</p><ul><li>Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise applications using <strong>Java, Spring, and Spring Boot</strong>.</li><li>Partner closely with Architects and Staff Engineers on technical design, engineering practices, integrations, and detailed-level architecture.</li><li>Translate business and product requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.</li><li>Develop and support application integrations using <strong>Kafka and RabbitMQ</strong>.</li><li>Work with relational databases and write SQL using technologies such as <strong>Oracle and DB2</strong>.</li><li>Support application deployments and development processes using <strong>GitHub and OpenShift</strong>.</li><li>Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.</li><li>Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.</li><li>Collaborate closely with Product teams and business partners to understand needs, evaluate options, and deliver solutions.</li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and biweekly retrospectives.</li><li>Communicate progress, risks, challenges, and technical recommendations to team members and Product leadership.</li><li>Mentor and support other engineers by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.</li><li>Identify opportunities to leverage <strong>AI and automation</strong> to streamline development, improve efficiency, and reduce repetitive work.</li><li>Constructively challenge technical or business decisions when appropriate and help teams work through differing perspectives.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p>What You’ll Need</p><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with <strong>Java</strong>.</li><li>Experience developing applications using <strong>Spring and Spring Boot</strong>.</li><li>Experience with <strong>OpenShift</strong>.</li><li>Experience using <strong>GitHub</strong> within a software development and deployment process.</li><li>Strong SQL experience with relational databases such as <strong>Oracle and/or DB2</strong>.</li><li>Experience with messaging and integration technologies such as <strong>Kafka and/or RabbitMQ</strong>.</li><li>Experience working in an <strong>Agile/Scrum</strong> development environment.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>Strong collaboration skills and the confidence to respectfully challenge ideas and discuss technical tradeoffs.</li><li>Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.</li><li>Interest in using <strong>AI and automation</strong> to improve development processes and team efficiency.</li></ul><p>What Will Make You Successful</p><p>The successful candidate will be more than someone who can write code.
