Criminal Law Paralegal
We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our team in Miami, Florida. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in civil and criminal litigation. The ideal candidate will be highly self-sufficient and capable of managing cases from inception to resolution while providing critical support during trial preparations and proceedings.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage case files independently, ensuring all aspects of litigation are handled from start to finish.<br>• Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials with precision and attention to detail.<br>• Utilize e-filing systems for submitting court documents accurately and efficiently.<br>• Track billable hours, maintaining a minimum of 6 hours per day and 1280 hours annually.<br>• Prepare trial materials and collaborate with attorneys during trial proceedings, including traveling as needed.<br>• Conduct legal research and manage discovery processes to support case development.<br>• Maintain calendars and deadlines to ensure timely submissions and adherence to court schedules.<br>• Create and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint to support trial strategies.<br>• Utilize case management software and tools such as Relativity to organize and manage case data effectively.<br>• Communicate proactively with attorneys and clients to ensure case progress and resolve any issues.
• Proven experience in civil and criminal litigation, including trial preparation and attendance.<br>• Proficiency in drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.<br>• Skilled in using e-filing systems and managing discovery processes.<br>• Familiarity with case management software, including Relativity.<br>• Strong competency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating trial presentations.<br>• Ability to work independently, managing cases from initiation to resolution.<br>• Willingness to travel within and outside the state as required for trials.<br>• Exceptional organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
