Sr. Software Engineer
<p>We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a technology team building internal business applications in Laconia, New Hampshire. This role focuses on building and enhancing multi-tier software solutions, partnering with stakeholders to translate business needs into practical applications, and guiding technical work from concept through delivery. The ideal candidate brings strong full-stack PHP development experience, sound problem-solving ability, and a collaborative approach to delivering reliable software.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Design, build, and maintain multi-tier software applications using modern development practices and appropriate technologies.</p><p>• Evaluate business requests, identify underlying operational needs, and propose effective technical approaches that align with project goals.</p><p>• Lead software initiatives from planning through implementation, ensuring solutions are delivered with quality, stability, and usability in mind.</p><p>• Develop and support full-stack PHP applications across multiple environments, including integration with databases and web services.</p><p>• Create, test, and optimize application components that operate on Linux-based systems and interact with platforms such as MySQL, DB2 for i, and Microsoft SQL Server.</p><p>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, managers, and subject matter experts to clarify requirements and maintain strong working relationships.</p><p>• Apply object-oriented programming principles and related web technologies, including JSON, JavaScript-based tools, and content platform integrations where needed.</p><p>• Manage several priorities at once while documenting progress, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing application improvements.</p>
<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline preferred; advanced education is a plus.</p><p>• At least 5 years of full-stack PHP development experience, including work across multiple application versions.</p><p>• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, relational databases, and both building and consuming web services.</p><p>• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts</p><p>• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.</p><p>• Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.</p><p>• Ability to stay organized, work independently, and balance multiple projects and daily responsibilities successfully.</p>
