Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting operations for a growing organization based in California. This role is ideal for a finance specialist who brings a blend of public accounting and industry expertise, along with strong judgment in complex entity structures and financial reporting. The Controller will play a central role in strengthening close processes, supporting cross-functional business activity, and delivering reliable reporting across a multi-entity environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct the full accounting function across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate consolidation and timely financial reporting.<br>• Lead the month-end and year-end close cycles while improving consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in reporting activities.<br>• Oversee accounting treatment for complex ownership arrangements, partnership structures, and entity-specific financial matters.<br>• Develop and enhance internal accounting procedures, controls, and workflows to support growth and operational scale.<br>• Partner closely with teams across operations, finance, and project development to align financial reporting with business activity.<br>• Support reporting needs related to investors, lenders, and project financing arrangements, including debt-related financial information.<br>• Manage relationships with outsourced accounting providers or shared services teams to maintain quality and accountability.<br>• Evaluate revenue recognition considerations, recurring billing activity, and contract-based service accounting where applicable.<br>• Use reporting tools, data analysis, and process automation opportunities to improve visibility and decision-making within the finance function.
• Background combining public accounting experience with progressive responsibility in industry accounting roles.<br>• Demonstrated success managing multi-entity accounting environments and preparing consolidated financial results.<br>• Strong knowledge of partnership accounting and financial implications across different legal entity and tax structures.<br>• Experience in capital-intensive sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, energy, construction, or other project-driven industries.<br>• Solid technical accounting expertise with the ability to lead financial reporting and close management activities.<br>• Familiarity with project financing arrangements, debt structures, and investor-focused reporting is strongly preferred.<br>• Experience working with NetSuite and building scalable accounting processes in a growing organization is preferred.<br>• Strong analytical skills with interest in data-driven reporting, automation, and emerging AI-enabled finance tools.
