We are partnering with a growing, well-established, privately held organization in Houston, TX that is looking to add an experienced Corporate Controller to their team. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can operate at both a technical and strategic level. The Corporate Controller will oversee key areas of the accounting function, lead and develop an experienced team, and serve as a trusted partner to senior finance leadership.The organization is looking for more than someone who can manage deadlines and review work. Controller Experience Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li><li>Active CPA license required.</li><li>10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience at the Controller or comparable leadership level.</li><li>Strong technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge.</li><li>Experience working within a multi-entity/location accounting environment.</li><li>Demonstrated experience reviewing financial statements and taking ownership of reporting accuracy.</li><li>Previous responsibility for leading and developing accounting professionals.</li><li>Experience working directly with external auditors.</li><li>Working knowledge of corporate and/or partnership tax matters sufficient to review work and coordinate with tax professionals.</li><li>Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.</li><li>Ability to operate independently and appropriately challenge accounting conclusions or work product when necessary.</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with executive leadership.</li></ul>Preferred Background<ul><li>Foundation in public accounting.</li><li>Experience within a complex privately held organization.</li><li>Exposure to organizations with multiple subsidiaries, investments, partnerships, or similar ownership structures.</li><li>Experience with joint venture or investment-related accounting is beneficial.</li><li>Previous involvement with accounting system implementations, finance transformation, or process improvement initiatives.</li></ul>
