Operations Manager
We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead transportation and freight brokerage activities in Southlake, Texas. This position is responsible for keeping shipments moving efficiently, strengthening service performance, and guiding a team that supports carriers and customers throughout the shipping process. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, sound operational judgment, and a deep understanding of transportation logistics in a fast-paced environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct day-to-day brokerage and transportation operations, ensuring freight is planned, assigned, monitored, and completed with a high level of service.<br>• Manage shipments from initial booking through final delivery, maintaining visibility across each stage and resolving exceptions quickly.<br>• Balance load coverage, margin performance, and customer expectations to support both operational success and profitability.<br>• Track shipment activity closely and take immediate action to address delays, disruptions, or carrier-related challenges.<br>• Create and refine operating workflows that improve consistency, efficiency, and the ability to support business growth.<br>• Lead, coach, and support coordinators, dispatch staff, and carrier sales team members to strengthen overall team performance.<br>• Set measurable performance standards, review results regularly, and provide feedback that encourages employee development.<br>• Build productive relationships with shippers, carriers, and customers while serving as a point of escalation for service concerns.<br>• Negotiate transportation rates and service terms with external partners to maintain competitive and reliable solutions.
• 7+ years of experience in operations management within transportation, freight brokerage, or logistics environments.<br>• Strong knowledge of ground transportation, air transportation, and end-to-end freight movement processes.<br>• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and develop employees in a service-driven setting.<br>• Experience working with freight carriers, freight companies, freight forwarders, and customer accounts.<br>• Solid understanding of transportation management, freight operations, and logistics coordination best practices.<br>• Proven skill in handling service issues, negotiating rates, and maintaining strong business relationships.<br>• Ability to manage multiple priorities, make informed decisions quickly, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
